Teen arrested after threat to shoot at Jefferson football game

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) — A teen was arrested Friday after a threat to shoot at Jefferson High School, according to Rockford police.

Police say the 17-year-old “indicated the intent to commit a shooting” at Wyeth Stadium during Friday’s high school football game between Jefferson and Harlem.

Rockford Police School Resource Officers at Jefferson High School were made aware of the threat, which was posted on social media.

The 17-year-old was charged for a felony disorderly conduct charge as a juvenile.

Rockford police say the juvenile is currently in custody.
