MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) (9/20/2019) – ELGA Credit Union is continuing their support of ABC12’s School Spirit Challenge and giving back to the students who make it all happen.
This year, ELGA is asking students to show their social spirit.
ELGA will award $500 to the school that shows the most school spirit on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #ABC12ELGAspirit. An additional $500 will be donated to that schools fundraising total to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
Spirit will be judged on the number of social media posts using the #ABC12ELGAspirit hashtag posted by the students and staff from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the day the Spirit Squad visits their school.
Prize money will be awarded to the school following the end of each quarter in November, February and May. ABC12 will join ELGA Credit Union for a filmed check presentation that will air during an ABC12 newscast.
ELGA will award a grand prize of $1,000 at the end of the School Spirit season to the school with the most social media posts using the #ABC12ELGAspirit hashtag between the hours of 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. every day from April 27 to May 1.
An additional $1,000 will be donated to the winning school’s final fundraising total to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. That check presentation will air on ABC12 during the week of May 18.
To be considered for the contest, all social media posts must include photos with students or staff before, during or after filming the live School Spirit segments; photos with donations; photos holding a School Spirit sign; or photos with School Spirit swag. No selfies will be accepted.
All posts are at the discretion of ABC12 and ELGA Credit Union to be considered. Any posts with profanity, lewd gestures or inappropriate content will be rejected automatically.
