Parents will see more law enforcement officers at Byrnes High School on Thursday after a potential threat was posted on social media, according to Melissa Robinette, with Spartanburg District 5.A student alerted administrators Wednesday afternoon about the potential threat made against students and faculty, Robinette said.According to Robinette, law enforcement was contacted and an investigation was launched.District 5 is not aware of any credible threat against Byrnes High School at this time, Robinette said.However, as a matter of extreme precaution, there will be additional law enforcement officers at Byrnes High School until this investigation is over, Robinette said.”As always, the safety of our students and staff is our first priority in District 5 schools,” Robinette said.
