Trump tweet about bedbugs at Florida resort roils social media

President Donald Trump has left a long legacy, and reinvigorated his fan base, by attacking the Democrats for everything from bumps in the economy to Mexican gangs invading the U.S.

On Tuesday, he blamed them for bed bugs.

Or, rather, he blamed them for spreading a “false and nasty rumor” that a bedbug infestation has been plaguing his golf resort in Doral, Florida.

Angry that his critics were less than thrilled with Trump’s recent announcement that he would like to hold next year’s Group of Seven summit at his Florida resort, the president took to Twitter, announcing:

“No bedbugs at Doral. The Radical Left Democrats, upon hearing that the perfectly located (for the next G-7) Doral National MIAMI was under consideration for the next G-7, spread that false and nasty rumor. Not nice!”

It’s not the first time allegations of bedbugs at Doral have surfaced. Three years ago, a former guest sued Doral, saying he’d been bitten by the critters during his stay. Eric Linder claimed in his lawsuit that he’d awoke to discover “welts, lumps and marks over much of his face, neck, arms and torso.”
