A San Antonio man was arrested Saturday after police say he filmed himself sexually assaulting a woman he met on a dating app and posted the video to social media, according to court records.
Angel Delgado, 30, remains in jail after he was charged with aggravated sexual assault, a first-degree felony. His bail has not yet been set.
The 28-year-old woman told a San Antonio police detective that she met Delgado on the dating app Plenty of Fish in late July or early August, according to an arrest affidavit. The woman said they had spent time together four or five times when the alleged assault happened.
According to the affidavit, the woman said she and Delgado were in her car in front of Delgado’s home on Aug. 4 when he accused her of cheating on him.
The woman said she told Delgado that she was waiting on a text from her son and that she was not going to spend the night because she had to get back to her kids.
According to police, Delgado got angry and told the woman she wasn’t leaving unless she walked home by herself. He then took her phone and smashed it, the affidavit states.
Delgado then asked the woman to give him oral sex but the woman said she did not want to, police say. Delgado then pulled out a knife that the woman kept for protection and put it to her head, the affidavit states.
According to police, the woman begged the man to stop but he put the knife to her throat and said he would start cutting off body parts. Police say he moved the knife to the woman’s ear and began acting like he was cutting.
The woman said she asked the man if she could walk home, but Delgado said it was too late. He forced her out of the car and told her to remain quiet as they walked inside because his grandfather and son were asleep.
Once they were inside, police say, Delgado asked the woman again to give him oral sex. She said no and began to cry, the affidavit states.
“(Delgado) told her to be quiet and stuck a sock in her mouth,” San Antonio Police Detective Bryan Cox wrote in the affidavit. “The defendant then put a t-shirt around her neck and began choking her with his hands. She said that she could not breath.”
The woman told investigators that she felt like she was going to die, at which point he stopped choking her and forced her to perform oral sex on him. He then proceeded to rape her, police say.
According to the affidavit, the man told the woman not to report the rape or he would kill her children.
The woman told investigators that she did not remember anything until the following morning, when she woke up on the floor naked. According to police, she got up and tried to leave, but the defendant grabbed her by the hair and slammed her to the ground.
The woman waited on the floor with Delgado holding her hair for about two hours, the affidavit states. When she felt that he had finally fallen asleep, she moved away from him, grabbed her bra and a blanket, and ran out the door.
After the assault, the woman realized the man had recorded a video as he forced her to perform oral sex and posted it on social media.
Four days later, the woman contacted police and provided a copy of the video to investigators. Cox said the woman appeared to be scared, frightened and in distress throughout the video.
According to online court records, Delgado has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2006, when he was 18 years old.
In 2012, he received deferred adjudication for choking or strangling a family member, a third-degree felony. Earlier this year, his probation was revoked and he was found guilty.
A second family violence charge in 2014 was dismissed for insufficient evidence.
Delgado was out on bail for evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance when the alleged assault occurred.
