A 16-year-old girl was booked on two counts of aggravated criminal threat and criminal use of a firearm.
In a news release Aug. 22, RCPD said the teens posted a threatening message onto Snapchat and appeared to have a gun. They said a citizen tipped them about the threats, which reportedly targeted two other boys, ages 15 and 17.
“You regularly hear the phrase, ‘see something, say something’“, Assistant Director Kurt Moldrup said in a Wednesday news release announcing the arrests. “I think this case demonstrates the continued importance of acting on that. Citizens can be confident RCPD will take every report of a possible threat seriously.”
Police did not release the names of the teens. They’d said earlier they attended Manhattan High School West campus. The school was not named in the threats.
