Teen arrested after social media threat – Red Bluff Daily News

HAMILTON CITY — A 16-year-old student from Hamilton City has been booked into Tehama County Juvenile Hall in connection with a threatening social media post made in June.

Detectives served a search warrant on the teen’s home Tuesday night and found numerous air soft firearms, knives and a small sword, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office. No real firearms were located.

The sheriff received a report earlier Tuesday from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives about the threatening post made in June, the release said. The office was able to identify the student and obtain the search warrant.

The student was contacted and admitted to writing the social media post, the release said. The teen was arrested and booked into the Tehama County Juvenile Hall for threats.

The release contained no information about the nature of the threat.

The case will be forwarded to the Glenn County Probation Department for disposition.
