Celtic are riding a crest of a wave after sealing their seventh consecutive trophy at the weekend.
Things couldn’t be going much better but could Dedryck Boyata be ready to give the Hoops faithful another boost?
That’s what Celtic fans are hoping for after the big Belgian posted a rather cryptic post to his Instagram page on Tuesday evening.
The 28-year-old showed a contract sitting on his desk before pointing his phone towards what was on the TV.
The Hoops defender appeared set for the exit door in the summer before returning in style after Brendan Rodgers brought him back into the fold.
Fulham had a £9million bid rejected during the last transfer window as the likes of Fenerbahce were also interested in his services.
Boyata is free to talk to clubs next month as his deal expires in the summer but the social media tease is sure to get Celtic fans talking.
Last week, Rodgers remained non-committal over his star performer’s long-term Parkhead future.
He said: “Boyata is in the last year of his deal, but I am quite relaxed on it. He has to look at every option possible.
“He has created a market for himself now because of how he has performed, which is great for him.
“Careers are short. There has been no lack of commitment from Boyata since last summer as you have seen.
“But as a professional player he has every right to wait and see what happens.
“I can assure everyone that doesn’t take away from his commitment to what we’re doing here.
“The next contract may be the last big one of his career as he is 28 now, and he just has to make sure it’s the right one.
“I am relaxed with it because there has been no drop off in mentality. There has never been with him.
“He has been absolutely first class for me. We will just assess the situation as time goes on.
“We know at some point we will lose some of these players. But at the minute we know where it’s at.”
The former Manchester City man hobbled off during the win over Aberdeen with a hamstring injury and faces a race to be fit for crucial clash with Rangers on December 29.
