After some investigation, police have determined that the person believed to be a registered sex offender from San Antonio, Texas, is not the same person living locally.”

The post continued to state that it was a case of both mistaken identity and incorrect information getting passed through social media.

“In fact, police have had contact with the local individual and he is not a registered sex offender,” the post stated. “There is no information to suggest that the individual identified in the social media posts as Larry Don McQuay from San Antonio, Texas, is currently residing in the Fort Morgan area and no records indicate he has ever been contacted in Morgan County.”
